Mind Body Balance:
As a qualified British School of Yoga Teacher, Geraldine has developed a series of Mind Body BalanceTM Programmes. Mind Body Balance is an integrative mind-body training programme incorporating mindfulness meditation; attentional skills training; emotional awareness training; contemplative training; and mindfulness yoga training. Mind Body Balance cultivates one’s ability to reduce stress and anxiety, sharpen focus and attention, and heighten awareness of cognition, body awareness and emotional processing. It provides the 'methods' to cultivate balanced and harmonic mind states which foster a greater acceptance of self and others.
Weekly Programme:
Mind Body BalanceTM weekly programme is open to all, no previous experience is necessary to attend this class. The class will run for 1.5 hours each week in blocks of eight sessions. This class is purely experiential, engaging in the practices taught and learning through your own experience. This class would also be ideal for professionals teaching mindfulness, to develop their personal experience and understanding of mindfulness and contemplative meditation practices and yoga.
Please bring a yoga mat, small cushion and a light blanket.
Children's Programme:
Mind Body BalanceTM offers a mindfulness meditation, contemplative training and mindfulness yoga programme for primary school children.
Through the practice of mindfulness meditation children develop attentional skills, developing concentration and focus. Children will be taught about emotions and how to recognise emotions in themselves and others, equipping them with the skills to regulate emotions in a positive and pro-social way. Mindfulness yoga will be taught heightening awareness and sharpening focus. Enabling children to develop greater body/mind awareness whilst reducing stress and bolstering self esteem and confidence. Finally children will be taught a series of contemplative practices enabling them to develop compassion and care for themselves and others, positively impacting on relationships, with peers, family, teachers and themselves.
