Dr Katy Roe, DClin Psy, MSc, BA Hons.

 


Completed a Psychology Honours Degree at Liverpool University in 2001 before going to study an MSc in Psychology in Bangor University, which was completed in 2003. Then completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2006.


 

 

Katy is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology working within the NHS.  She has worked in various settings within the NHS but now specialises in Adult Mental Health and has a specalist interest in clients who have an Acquired Brain Injury. 

As a clinical psychologist working within Adult Mental Health she sees clients with a range of presentations including; Anxiety based disorders, Depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Eating Disorder, secondary Alcohol and Drug problems, Interpersonal Problems, Bereavement, difficulties with Anger, Self harm and Suicide and also serious and enduring mental health problems such as Psychosis and Bi-Polar Disorder.

During her eight years within the NHS Katy has developed a keen interest in Acceptance and Mindfulness Based Approaches, which have now become the main focus of her clinical work.  During this time Katy has attended several experiential workshops and seminars which has enabled her to intergrate Acceptance and Mindfulness practices into her clinical work. 

Katy also provides Acceptance and Mindfulness teaching and training to colleagues in psychiatry, clinical psychology and other health related disciplines.  In addition to this Katy has lectured on both the Lancaster and Liverpool Doctoral courses. 

In 2008 Katy joined Mindflow as an associate member where she acts as a consultant on various aspects of mental health. She is an active participant in developing and delivering mindfulness based teacher training programmes for Mindflow.
